It was
a cold
dark
winter’s day
this special one
that would change
everything
i sat
serious
my legs crossed
waiting
in a red chair
next to me
a table
almost a border
between
a second
red chair
you
full of confidence
sat down
next to me
you
said hello
introduced yourself
nicely
i was suprised
but indeed
appealed
the hour
that was to follow
passed
like a river
fast
we opened
our
souls
to each other
our
hearts
seemed like magnets
in the evening
we met
again
not on red chairs
but couches
in a simple café
we were already
planning
our wedding
dreaming of a future
that was only ours
and since at least
a piece of cucumber
from my sushiroll
that i ate
dropped
down
onto my hand
and you
picked it up
with your chopsticks
and ate it
i knew
i will never
let you go
in the beginning
everything
seemed
easy
weightless
just us
our worlds
collided
a new universe
was born
i remember
oh so well
that warm
summer’s day
in february
you
me
the sweet smell
of flowers
the last
ray of sunlight
enlightened
our world
soon
very soon
our universe
imploded
then
there was only
pain
tears
coldness
mine
your
world
empty again
now
after all this
time
i know
on that cold
winter’s day
the piece of cucumber
sealed
our fate
PS
because
you
i won’t ever
let go
